FAQ
Once I arrive at Tonseth Lutheran Church, where do I go?
After you park at the church, a shuttle will arrive to transport you to the forest entrance. The shuttle ride will be approximately 3-5 minutes and will review the rules for the night. Once you are dropped off at Moccasin Valley, you will pay admission at the entrance and head down the trail! Once your tour is complete, the shuttle will be back to bring you to the parking lot.
Are there food options available onsite?
We will have snack & beverage options available onsite to enjoy before or after your trip down the trail, including soda, water, and candy (items are all $2.00). Hot apple cider and hot chocolate will be complimentary. Alcohol will NOT be available for purchase for this event.
The Haunted Forest is mostly outdoors. What happens if there's bad weather?
Since the Haunted Forest is an outdoor haunted attraction, there's always a chance that rain or storms may impact your visit. We'll do everything we can to keep the trail open - as long as it's safe to operate. For example, we may operate the trail if it's raining, but we may need to close the trail if there are high winds or lightning is detected nearby.
In the interest of safety, we reserve the right to delay, suspend, or cancel start times for each night if there is a safety concern as a result of, but not limited to, inclement or severe weather. If severe weather persists or it's not safe to operate, we may have to close the trail for the night.
Don't worry - If you've bought tickets and there is an unexpected closure, all tickets that have been purchased may be redeemed for another night or start time.
Is the trail suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility issues?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the trail, we cannot accommodate guests who require wheelchairs at this time. Guests with mobility issues, such as requiring canes, walkers, or crutches, are advised that the trail is not suitable for them.
Since this is an outdoor hiking trail with varying terrain, make sure your wear sturdy footwear and dress accordingly - closed-toed shoes are recommended! Please be aware that the trail may have overhung branches and tree stumps. Please pay attention when walking through the trail.
What should I bring with me to the Haunted Forest?
Your friends/family, a sturdy pair of shoes (closed toe is recommended), and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Moccasin Valley is best enjoyed with friends and family, so make a night of it! Since the trail is entirely outdoors, make sure that you dress for the weather and your comfort level.
Are tickets available for purchase online?
Tickets cannot be purchased online, but we are looking into it for future events.
Are there bathrooms onsite?
There will be portable toilet facilities at the entrance to the trail, close to where you pay. There will not be any at Tonseth Lutheran Church or along the trail.
Can I use a flashlight on the trail?
Yes, guests will be allowed to use flashlights on the trail. We ask that you limit flashlight use in the cabin.
Are there group discounts available?
Parties of 6 or more are eligible for a discounted price of $16 per adult / $12 per kid. To redeem this offer, just ask at the ticket counter at the event and we will be happy to issue a discount!
Please consider us for your next group outing! The Haunted Forest at Moccasin Valley is perfect for youth groups and more!
Is there an age limit? Should I bring my kids to the Haunted Forest?
We recommend that children are at least 12 years old. Please note that no children under 10 years old will not be allowed to enter the trail without a parent or guardian present.
The Haunted Forest is a horrifying experience and may not be suitable for some children. The trail may include "jump scares," flashing lights, loud noises, and scenes that could be unsettling for younger guests.
We encourage parents to use their best judgment when deciding to bring their children.
How Long is the trail?
The entire trail is 3/4 of a mile and your journey should take approximately 30 minutes.
Who can I contact about using Moccasin Valley for an event another time during the year?
